Welcome to the Cardiff Oratory

The Fathers and Brothers of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in Formation at Cardiff are members of a Roman Catholic society of apostolic life. Following the way of the Sixteenth Century priest, St. Philip Neri, they are dedicated to Prayer, the Word of God, and the Sacraments, especially the worthy celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacrament of Confession. In establishing the Oratory, the Seventh Archbishop, Most Rev. George Stack, wrote, "I pray that this Oratorian Community ... will be a fruitful witness to the Gospel in exploring new ways to serve those both within the Church and those living on the peripheries of society in the City and in the Diocese of Cardiff." Since 2019, the Oratorians have the care of souls in the Parish of St. Alban-on-the-Moors, Splott. They also provide support to the pupils and teachers of St. Alban’s Primary School. There are currently two priests and two brothers in formation for the priesthood.
